A WOMAN sustained bruising to her stomach after she was ‘shot at’ in Poole.

Between 10pm and 10.30pm on Saturday, September 21a woman aged in her 30s was walking along Castle Street, from Poole Quay, and as she approached Orchard Plaza she felt a pain to her stomach.

The woman reported that she had been struck by some kind of projectile, possibly a pellet from an air weapon or BB gun. She sustained bruising to her stomach as a result.

Immediately after the incident, the victim saw a man looking at her and laughing. She went to challenge him, and the man was abusive towards her, before making off from the scene.

Officers investigating the incident are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

Police Constable Ran Hartman-Turner, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“As part of our investigation, we have obtained a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to and I would urge anyone with information regarding his identity to please contact us.”
