FORMER dairy farm buildings, being used by the Moors Valley Railway as a station and storage, are to be altered with a new roof added.
Dorset councillors have agreed to the removal of the existing, leaking, roof to the main station and sheds.
It will then be replaced with new, insulated, cladding with an open, covered ridge.
Other changes approved include the front, brick elevation of shed number 0043 to be partly demolished and re-built to match the front elevation of the adjacent shed in a saw-tooth design, and windows to another workshop to be bricked up with the front elevation of other areas to be extended vertically to allow for the continuation of the roof line from store area.
Ward councillor Cllr Barry Gorringe says the popular attraction would be improved by the changes and proposed agreement at a Dorset Council area planning committee on Wednesday.
Other councillors agreed – passing the application unanimously.
