MORE than 2,000 people have flocked to a new indoor immersive role play centre in Hurn.

Despite the Discovery Village only opening in September, it has been “inundated” with bookings and reviews along with 10,000 website hits, its boss has said.

Along with this, Dorset’s latest attraction has an “impressive” following on its social media platforms TikTok, Instagram, Facebook YouTube and Twitter.

Found at the old Adventure Wonderland theatre site opposite Bournemouth Airport, it has welcomed more than 2,3000 visitors, its owner Chris Sampson said.

The attraction is an immersive role play centre, where children are encouraged to play, learn, discover and grow.

The village ‘high street’ features nine bespoke crafted role play areas, including a vet, Italian pizzeria, theatre, farm shop, post office and beauticians.

Each area is focused on “play, imagination and creativity with its own carefully curated toys, costumes and accessories”, Chris added.

Every two-hour session is run by performers who engage with and play with the children to “make each session an adventure”.

Chris said: “The idea really came during lockdown, and earlier this year I took the decision to make it a reality.

“I’m so proud of what we have all created here. It’s everything I hoped it would be and the feedback is testament to all the hard work from the team.

“In fact, we have had such a great response that we haven’t had time for an official opening.

“We’ve got a packed calendar of themed sessions with Halloween, Christmas and January’s ‘circus comes to town’.

“Each theme has its own personalised story so every month there’s something new and exciting happening at Discovery Village.”

Designed for children aged two- to eight-year-olds, Discovery Village bookings can be made online at discoveryvillage.co.uk.

It has a selection of upcoming seasonal events for children, including Halloween at Discovery Village, SEND Play Session Halloween Special and A Magical Christmas.
