A DAILY Echo reporter is gearing up to run the 2024 London Marathon for charity.
Georgia Revell, a senior reporter at the Bournemouth Echo, will be lining up to run the 26.2 mile route next April.
New to the running scene, Georgia has jumped straight into training and is looking forward to the challenge.
“When I got a place in the London Marathon back in July, I couldn’t even run 2km without stopping," Georgia said.
“A few months later and after investing in a good pair of running trainers, I’m managing much longer distances. The longest I have managed so far is 17km, but there's still a way to go.
“I’m on a great training plan, so I’m feeling confident and am just excited for the big day."
Georgia is taking part with Samaritans, and aims to raise £2500 for the emotional support charity.
She said: “I’m so pleased to be running for Samaritans; it is a charity that means a huge amount to me.
“I’m doing everything I can to hit that £2500 target before the run, and so I’d be hugely grateful if anyone could spare a few pennies and donate to my fundraising page.”
