DEVELOPERS behind a major housing development in Christchurch have lodged an appeal to force a decision.
Churchill Retirement Living has submitted an appeal against the non-determination of its planning application for its scheme off Bridge Street.
BCP Council has yet to decide on the plans for 177 apartments, 237sqm of commercial space, communal facilities and car parking at the former gas works site.
The proposals have been in the pipeline since February 2021, but were formally lodged with BCP Council in September of last year.
Non-determination is when the local planning authority fails to determine the application within the statutory period.
The appeal will be determined on the basis of an inquiry, giving interested parties the opportunity to submit representations by November 1.
Churchill Retirement Living’s plans for Bridge Steet have received hauls of objections from residents since being submitted.
Christchurch Town raised no objection to the scheme but have strongly recommended that a robust construction mobilisation plan is drawn up.
