ROAD closures along the A338 Wessex Way next week will bring disruption to motorists.

Planned maintenance work along the busy dual carriageway will start on Wednesday, October 16 and last until Friday, October 18.

Workmen will be alongside the dual carriageway doing barrier repairs, litter picking and grass and shrubbery trimming of the verges.

To facilitate the work, closures will be in place every night between 8.30pm and 5am.

On the first night, the Wessex Way will close between County Gates Roundabout and St Paul’s Roundabout on both sides.

It will also be closed eastbound from St Paul’s Roundabout to Springbourne Roundabout, but westbound will be open as usual.

Meanwhile, on the second night, the road between Cooper Dean flyover and Springbourne Roundabout will be closed on both sides.

And it will be closed westbound between Springbourne Roundabout and St Paul’s Roundabout while eastbound remains open.

BCP Council said: “Full emergency services access will be maintained and access to properties will be maintained depending on site safety.”

The Wessex Way will be fully open from 5am on October 18.
