POLICE are warning drivers of illegal parking after finding numerous vehicles on zig zag lines.

Officers from Bournemouth neighbourhood policing team found the cars while on patrol in Westbourne on October 11.

The team warned on social media that parking in these areas can block visibility for drivers and pedestrians, which increases the risk of accidents.

Drivers caught doing so can be issued a paring ticket, resulting in three points on their license and a £100 fine.

The post read: “Bournemouth NPT out on patrol tonight noticed an alarming trend with cars parked on zig zag lines in Westbourne.

“These lines are there for a reason, to keep our roads safe for everyone.

“Parking in these areas can block visibility for drivers and pedestrians, increasing the risk of accidents.

“Let’s keep our streets safe and clear.”

“Please remember zig zag lines mean no parking, even if 'just popping to the shops'.

“Help us keep everyone safe by parking responsibly.

“Two drivers were each given a ticket for this road traffic offence.

“That means three points on their licence and £100 fine.”
