DISABILITY charity Diverse Abilities has launched its annual Christmas tree recycling service.
The Dorset-based charity will be celebrating 10 years of collecting Christmas trees from residents to be sustainably recycled to raise money for itself.
Bookings are now being taken to have Christmas trees collected between January 9 and 12 from Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Ringwood.
Francesca Potton, community fundraiser, said: “We were the first charity in the area to introduce this scheme, and it’s become one of our most important fundraisers of the year.
“[It] allows us to raise vital money and truly makes a huge difference in our efforts to continue supporting more than 1,600 children and adults with physical and learning disabilities across the county.”
Collections can be booked online for a suggested £10 donation, and the charity’s team of volunteers will take to the roads of Dorset over the collection weekend in January.
Diverse Abilities is also recruiting volunteers to help the Treecycling team to collect and recycle Christmas trees.
Families and businesses with access to vans, pickup trucks, or buses should contact Francesca on 01202 718266 to discuss how to get involved and help make a difference for the charity.
