E-SCOOTERS being used illegally in the town centre have been seized by police.

Bournemouth Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) seized the e-scooters while on patrol in Bournemouth town centre on Saturday night, October 12.

It followed concerns raised over people ‘racing up and down the pedestrian areas’ with them.

After seizing several e-scooters on patrol, officers from the NPT posted on social media: “These vehicles pose significant dangers, not just to their drivers, but to everyone around them.

“Driving uninsured vehicles can lead to serious consequences, including accidents that could result in injuries or property damage. Without insurance, riders risk hefty fines and can find themselves financially responsible for any harm caused.

“Our priority is the safety and well-being of our community. By enforcing these regulations, we aim to prevent accidents and ensure that everyone can enjoy our streets safely.

“This will be the first of many targeted operations of this kind. If you are thinking of driving an e scooter illegally on the streets of our town, think again.”
