THE last time a great storm hit our island was in 1990 Burns' Day Storm or Cyclone Daria and there were many casualties prior to that we had The Great Storm 1953 (307 died).
Biblical predictions about the increase activities of the elements came upon us savagely ; Ie " the sea & the waves roaring" (Like 10).
Storms are no longer storms as we know them.
Because of climate change they have increased from beasts to monsters.
My concern is that we all have grown to be somewhat complacent. My thoughts is that we must not be alarmed at this reality but rather alert like never before.
If the weather watch is warning us of an oncoming storm we must take action immediately and stay at home like in the days of the pandemic.
If I live in a lowland or sea-level area I should have a refuge to go to on a higher place. Pro-activity in this matter is essential.
We just saw on the news the unbelievable devastations caused by hurricanes in the states of Florida and North Carolina.
Readiness and alertness are the main keys to survival.
The next storms are not an if but a when.
