A DORSET pub that strives to bring the ‘essence of London cooking to Dorset’ is the Daily Echo’s Pub of the Week.

Trevor and Lyn Beard are the proud leaseholders of Drusilla’s Inn, a gastropub brimming with old world charm and a friendly atmosphere.

The pub, in Horton Road, reopened under new management to customers on October 16.

James Beard is the owner and Michelin trained head chef at Drusilla’s Inn who also worked as an apprentice under the Galvin brothers.

The pub has a vision to ‘create a space where every meal tells a story, every drink sparks connection, and every visit feels like coming home.’

It says: ‘Join us as we blend tradition with creativity to offer an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates both flavour and community.’

Jasmin Shepperd-Greatbatch is another driving force behind the pub as the operations manager.

She said: “Get ready for bold, creative dishes packed with local flavours and seasonal ingredients, along with handcrafted cocktails that elevate every sip.

“Fresh vibes, new tastes, and an unforgettable dining experience are coming your way.

“We've got quite a large wine selection, and various beers to try, it's quite regionally priced as well for what it is.

“We want to bring the essence of London cuisine to this lovely pub. Our head chef and owner trained in London for years and now brings his talent to Drusilla’s Inn."

Jasmin added: “As we're a new independent business, we want to make sure the menu is small, so it's all executed to perfection, rather than having a large menu and all of it isn't great or one dish is great.

“It's all about baby steps, because if we try and run before we can walk, we're just not going to survive.

“We're leasing it from a private owner, meaning we get freedom on our beer, we get freedom on the food we can serve which is great.

“We’re really excited for what the future brings and hope all our customers enjoy the new Drusilla’s Inn.”

It also boasts a dog friendly area and picturesque views of Horton Tower.
