AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a 35-year-old man who was found dead in a Bournemouth park.
Michael Alexander Scott was found unresponsive in Queen’s Park by a member of the public on October 12.
Assistant coroner for Dorset, Richard Middleton, opened the inquest into his death at Bournemouth Town Hall on October 17.
Coroner’s officer, Sarah Harrison, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Michael was born in Poole on June 1, 1989.
He was single, living in Bournemouth and not working at the time of his death.
On October 12 police and the ambulance service were called to Queen’s Park after a member of the public raised a concern for welfare.
However, Michael was pronounced deceased at the scene and formally identified by PC Andrew Kelly.
A postmortem examination conducted by Dr Albadry on October 16 found Michael’s provisional cause of death to be hanging.
Mr Middleton adjourned the hearing for a full inquest on January 27, 2025, at 10am.
