SINGER Adam Ant has been forced to pull out of a show in Bournemouth tonight due to sickness.

The Prince Charming singer, 69, is said to be suffering from a “severe cold” and has had to postpone Sunday, October 20’s show.

Adam Ant, who was due to be at the Pavilion as part of his Antmusic tour, has apologised for the absence.

A statement said: “Unfortunately, the Adam Ant show in Bournemouth on October 20 is postponed.

“Much to his regret and disappointment, Adam has yet to make a full recovery from a severe cold. He sends deepest apologies to everyone.

“We are hoping to re-schedule the show. We will be in touch shortly.”

A spokeswoman for BH Live, which runs the Pavilion, said: “We will contact ticketholders to advise of this postponement.

“A new date is currently to be confirmed. Original tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.”

Adam Ant’s musical career spans the course of nine albums and 22 chart-topping singles worldwide – he was also the first winner of a Brit Award.

The English singer emerged as the lead singer of the new wave group Adam and the Ants, and later as a solo artist, becoming one of the most noticeable acts in the world.

He scored 10 UK top 10 hits from 1980 to 1983, including three UK number one singles: 'Stand and Deliver', 'Prince Charming' and 'Goody Two Shoes'.

It is also rumoured that he inspired Johnny Depp's portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise with his signature look.
