A MAN allegedly made threats to kill.

Officers were called to Sea Road at Boscombe Pier during the early hours of Sunday morning, October 20.

One witness said they saw two police vans arrive and officers speak to a woman before taking her away.

And then, shortly afterwards, the witness said more police arrived at the seafront road before appearing to arrest another man.

Dorset Police’s spokesman said it was claimed the woman had been assaulted earlier that night by a man known to her.

She did not need immediate hospital treatment, but the officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill.

He was later released without charge.

The spokesman said: “Dorset Police received a report at 2.07am on Sunday 20 October 2024 from a third party reporting that a woman had been assaulted by a man who was believed to be known to her.

“Officers attended and located the woman, who did not require immediate hospital treatment.

“Following enquiries, a man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill.

“Following further enquiries, and after liaising with all parties involved, the man was subsequently released without charge.”
