SANTAS are being sought to take part in a festive fun run this December.

The Santa Stour River Fun Run takes place in Wimborne on Sunday, December 15.

Organised by Wimborne Rotary, the event aims to raise funds for Julia’s House children’s hospice and other Rotary supported charities.

Rotarian Neil Hutchinson said: “Once again we will welcome all runners to this fun charity event.

"We have secured a local sponsor for the run but are still looking for any other local businesses which would like to become involved through sponsorship or by helping on the day.”

Runners set off at 10am from Wimborne Town Football Club in Ainsley Road.

Entrants will be able to choose from either a 2.5k or 5k course with routes running in part alongside the River Stour.

Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s.

Entrants should pre-book by registering at wimbornerotary.org/giving

There will also be limited places for those who turn up on the day, but pre-booking will guarantee a place.

Participants can choose to receive a free Santa suit or a festive hat, and a free mince pie and drink will be available at the finish.

Runners are also encouraged to fundraise for their own favourite charities by seeking their own sponsorship.
