A NEW' funky and modern' café is coming to Tuckton.

Alex Scott, from Southbourne, drew inspiration from her time in Sydney, where she trained as a barista. She is preparing to launch her own establishment, Immaculate Coffee House.

The café will be based at 129 Tuckton Road, at the former premises of Alex's husband's business, Immaculate Home Improvements, which has since expanded to Ferndown.

Speaking on the opening, Alex said: "This is something I have wanted to do for years and years.

"Now my children are a little bit older, I have decided to give a go, because it has always been my dream."

Alex has been renovating the space since July and is nearly ready for her grand opening, which is set for November 9.

Alex said: "I want it to be a really inclusive space where people can come and feel welcome.

"I'm hoping what's going to set me apart is that we're going to be super welcoming and really customer-focused.

"I've deliberately got my coffee machine facing the door because I go into so many coffee shops, and they've got their back to you or are on their phone.

"I'm not having any of that. Every person who steps in is going to be greeted and feel comfortable."

Alex has partnered with Bad Hand Coffee, a coffee roaster based in Bournemouth, and Meggy Moo's Dairy in Dorset, aiming to support local businesses.

Immaculate Coffee House will also serve tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, milkshakes, grilled sandwiches, cakes and crisps.

While renovating the space, Alex said Tuckton residents have shown a keen interest in the café.

She said: "It's been amazing. Everyday people are popping in and asking when we are going to be opening.

"I think a café is something we really need in the area and that's why people are looking forward to it.

"I've have been around several businesses and they seem excited to have a place where they can grab a coffee."

The café will be open seven days a week from 8am till 4pm and is dog friendly.
