A MAN was “beaten up” by a gang of men in an alleyway in Bournemouth town centre during an early hours attack.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was reportedly assaulted by three men in an alleyway off Old Christchurch Road at around 5am on Sunday, October 20.

Police have said the victim was pinned to the wall before he was punched in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

The offenders ran off with money and a house key belonging to the victim before leaving the scene.

Following enquiries by officers, a 32-year-old man from Bournemouth and a 28-year-old man from Poole were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They have been released on police bail as officers continue their investigation.

Police constable Naomi Bruce, of Bournemouth police, said: “While we arrested two men in connection with this incident, we are still carrying out enquiries and we are issuing an image of a man we wish to identify.

“While I appreciate that the quality of the image isn’t the best, I would ask anyone who recognises him to contact us.

“Furthermore, I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area of Old Christchurch Road as well as motorists driving in the area at the time of the robbery to please review their dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
