A DRIVER has been caught exceeding speeds of 100mph on a busy Dorset bypass.
The driver was travelling along the Puddletown Bypass at 109mph, which is 39mph more than the speed limit.
They were caught by Casualty Reduction Officers from Dorset Police using a speed gun.
A spokesperson for Dorset Traffic Cops said: “The driver had no excuse for travelling at this speed and has been reported to Court for the offence of excess speed.
“Speeding can lead to serious injuries or death, and it's important to be aware of the risks.”
The speed limit along the Puddletown Bypass is set at 70mph.
In order to remain aware of speed limits, the traffic cops recommend that drivers ‘check for signs, especially at junctions, and assume the limit is lower if you're not sure.’
