AN Asda worker has shaved her head in store to raise money for charity.
Jay Kelly, who works as a checkout section leader at Asda in Poole, braved the shave to support colleagues and friends currently undergoing cancer treatment.
The event took place in store at Asda in Poole on October 27 with many people turning out to witness Jay's long locks be lopped off.
Jay donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust and has so far raised more than £800 for Tickled Pink.
Vikki Ekema, the community colleague for Asda Poole is a friend and colleague of Jay.
Vikki said: “She’s always wanted to shave her head” but had never had the chance.
She added: “This gave her the push to go through with it.”
Vikki also added how impressed the crowd on Saturday was at Jay's kind act.
She said: “I just think she’s so brave, I’m absolutely blown away.
“Loads of the people that were there on Saturday said that she was so brave.”
After tying her hair into multiple pigtails, members of the public as well as Jay herself started to cut her hair.
Jay’s hair length was around 58 centimetres and now it sits at a grade two, meaning it’s below a centimetre.
Tickled Pink is a fundraising and awareness partnership between Asda, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel.
Tickled Pink’s goal is to raise more than £100 million for breast cancer charities by 2026.

Today it has risen to eighteen out of ten.
