A PEDESTRIAN has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a car in Poole.

Police were called to Lindsay Road at 6.50am on November 1 after reports of a collision with a silver Vauxhall Ampera Electron and a pedestrian.

Officers attended along with the ambualnce service, and the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The pedestrian, a local man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital with injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 6.50am to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian near to Tesco on Lindsay Road in Poole.

“Officers attended with the ambulance service.

“Road closures were put in place.

“The pedestrian has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are described as serious but not life-threatening.

“Vehicle has been recovered and road reopened at around 8.10am.”

Police sergeant Mark Burton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway to establish what happened and I am keen to speak to any witnesses.

“I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closure was in place during a busy time of the morning.”
