FIREWORKS returned over Christchurch with a bang drawing in an enthusiastic crowd.
Christchurch Rotary’s Bonfire and Fireworks Spectacular returned on Saturday, November 2 at The Grange School.
Christchurch mayor Paul Hilliard, who pressed the button to ignite the bonfire, said: “It’s been a brilliant evening, and I’m thrilled to see so many community groups working together here in Christchurch.
“This event has been incredibly well-supported, and lighting such a wonderful bonfire was an honour. Events like this show just how special our community is and how we can come together for a common purpose.”
“We are truly grateful to Twynham Learning for providing this venue and partnering with us for such a special event,” said Stewart Day, bonfire committee chair.
“The Grange School offered a fantastic setting for the evening, and their support has been invaluable in helping us bring back this much-loved tradition for the Christchurch community.”
The night featured an array of professional fireworks and a bonfire, bringing in “much positive feedback from the public”, the rotary club said.
