A HUGE blaze at a recycling centre, which called on 20 firefighters, was caused by a pile of mattresses.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service attended the fire at W&S Waste Management Ltd, on Ling Road in Poole at 5am on November 4.
Crews from seven different stations arrived including Poole, Hamworthy, Redhill Park, Ferndown, Westbourne, Springbourne and Dorchester.
The public were told to avoid the area and keep windows closed as the fire service dealt with the incident.
Ferndown fire station shared on social media that a large pile of mattresses caught fire and that crews had to rotate firefighters due to the arduous work of turning over the material.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We were called to a commercial property fire on Ling Road, Poole at 5:00am today.
"Pumping appliances from Poole, Hamworthy, Redhill Park, Ferndown, Westbourne and Springbourne were mobilised along with special appliance from Dorchester and Poole were mobilised.
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus are using two main lines, one hose reel jet and one safety jet to tackle the fire.
“A total of 20 firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and the incident will be scaled back shortly to three pumps.
"Crews remain on scene to dampen down and assist site staff.
"Our stop was in at 7:45am."
