TRAINS are being cancelled just hours after the Brockenhurst train line completed its first phase of essential maintenance.
The line was closed between Brockenhurst and Lymington for a week to undergo essential track upgrades and reopened this morning (November 4).
Now, fewer trains are able to run on all lines after a reported shortage of train crew.
A spokesperson for SWR said: “Due to a shortage of train crew between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier, fewer trains are able to run on all lines.
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
To passengers with their journey, their ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost, on the following services:
Bluestar 6 between Brockenhurst and Lymington
Morebus X1 and X2 between Lymington - New Milton - Christchurch - Bournemouth
Morebus 120 between New Milton - Sway - Lymington
Morebus 119 between New Milton and Lymington
Southwestern Railway has also issued a rail replacement bus confirmed to run between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier:
- 1 bus starting from Brockenhurst at 15:45, calling at Lymington Town then Lymington Pier, then shuttle until 19:00.
Travel disruption is expected until 7pm tonight.
