A fantastic Halloween and fireworks display in Christchurch raised a lot of money for charity 20 years ago.
Thousands attended the Rotary Club event, many in fun costumes and families enjoyed pumpkin carving and costume contests before the fireworks.
A special children's display with no loud noises kicked off the fireworks and then the main event featured amazing new displays, including a fiery Rotary centenary message.
Even the bonfire got a modern touch with an electronic lighting system.
Rotary President Stephen Ellson was happy with the turnout and spooky theme while local youth groups had stalls alongside around 20 other charities.
Money from sponsors and tickets were donated to support local youth charities.
