CARE home staff are baring all for a good cause by creating a naked calendar to raise money for charity.
The Staff at Oakdene Care Home in Three-Legged Cross are putting together twelve “tasteful” nude photos to illustrate a charity calendar.
A target of £1,500 has been set for the home to raise funds for the home's chosen charity, Make a Wish.
Each participant is posing for their month, based on their role within the home.
Paddy Butler is the maintenance manager, and for his month, he chose to stand on a ladder, using his toolbox for some privacy.
Paddy said: “We’re doing this calendar for charity.
“This has given us the arena to do this to raise funds for Make-a-Wish and build on the team spirit in the home.
“The idea was formed as a couple of us chatted about how to raise money for the charity, and so began the journey of the calendar.
“First, I took a practice photo and shared it with the team.
“Soon, others wanted to join in, saying things like, ‘Can I do March?’ or ‘I’ll take February!’ “Of course, some of us are more reserved, so we’re also planning to take a fully-clothed group photo, since we’re all part of the team here at Oakdene.”
The team is spending the rest of the week finalising the photos for the last two months in the calendar, which is expected to be finished by the end of the week.
Paddy said that in two weeks, they will be ready for people to pre-buy the calendar for Christmas and expects it to go on sale for around £15.
When asked what the residents at the care home thought of the calendar, he said: “We’ve been quite discreet because we want to respect that this is where our residents live.
“But for October, which was Halloween-themed, we wrapped one of the carers in toilet paper, and everyone found that hilarious.
“We showed them some of the taster shots and they were chuckling away, they’re nor reserved and really enjoy the banter.”
