A CELEBRITY gardener will join forces with the mayor to officially open Wimborne’s newest retirement community.
Charlie Dimmock, who stars in BBC’s Garden Rescue, and town mayor councillor Jeff Hart, will cut the ribbon to The Old Market Village on November 14.
On the day, guests will be treated to a glass of fizz and light refreshments freshly prepared by the culinary team at the development’s on-site bistro.
They will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of The Old Market Village and ask developers McCarthy Stone any questions regarding retirement living.
Charlie will also lead an exclusive potting demonstration for terrace and patio plants, and give advice on the best herbs, plants and vegetables to plant at this time of year.
Verity McKay, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “We’re excited to welcome Wimborne’s local retirees and their families to join us in celebrating our official grand opening.
"As the first official homeowners at the development prepare to settle in, this event is a great way to kickstart their retirement at The Old Market Village.
“The Old Market Village provides a unique brand of retirement living in the local area with independence and community at its heart.
"With a wealth of social activity on offer and a friendly management team on-hand, homeowners and their families can enjoy peace of mind that everything is taken care of, and help is nearby.”
