FOUR teenagers have been charged after an alleged huge fight near Bournemouth Pier during the summer.
Dorset Police received a report at around 5.20pm on June 26 of the fight in which it is claimed a woman was punched in the stomach and a man suffered minor facial injuries.
Officers attended the scene and following enquiries, four teenagers – all from Basingstoke and one of whom has since turned 18 – were arrested and subsequently charged.
Three 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence.
Balen Fearon, 18, has been charged with using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence and possession of a controlled class B drug – Cannabis.
All four are due to attend Poole Magistrates’ Court on January 8.
Police constable Emily Cooke, of the neighbourhood enforcement team, said: “We would like to reassure residents, visitors and business owners in Bournemouth town centre that we take all reports of public disorder and anti-social behaviour very seriously.
“We will endeavour to quickly and robustly tackle incidents such as this and take appropriate action.”
