A COUNCILLOR has stepped down from his cabinet post due to “personal reasons”.
Wareham councillor Ryan Holloway has stepped down as cabinet member for corporate development and transformation.
The Liberal Democrat took on the role after May’s local elections for Dorset Council after his party won a majority off the Conservatives.
A statement from Dorset Council said: “Cllr Ryan Holloway is standing down as cabinet member for corporate development and transformation with immediate effect.
“Cllr Holloway has taken the decision to resign for personal reasons.
“Leader of the council, Cllr Nick Ireland, will appoint a successor to the cabinet role in due course.”
Cllr Holloway has been a Dorset Council councillor since its formation in 2019 when Dorset County Council split into Dorset Council and BCP Council.
He currently serves the Wareham ward with fellow Lib Dem Beryl Ezzard.
He also has a 100 per cent attendance record for all scheduled meetings, Dorset Council’s website says.
