AN organisation providing support to residents in Ferndown hosted an exciting new initiative this autumn.
Ferndown Community Support’s new initiative ‘We Go Wild!’ was created to get families out into the great outdoors.
Thanks to Heathside Travel providing a 41-seater coach and driver, the team and families were able to set off on a mini adventure to Burley.
They enjoyed a picnic lunch and a range of activities, including a scavenger hunt, den building, stone painting, badminton and boules games.
A spokesperson for Ferndown Community Support said: “We understand how challenging it can be to keep kids entertained during half-term, which is why we launched this initiative—offering a chance to unwind and explore together in the freedom of nature.
"We are so grateful to Heathside Travel for their kind sponsorship of this initiative, and to the volunteers who helped put this trip together.”
Ferndown Community Support provide community initiatives, including a food bank hub and support for elderly and housebound unable to get the supplies and services they need, as well as events and community connection initiatives.
