A ‘DRUNK’ man was handcuffed after going for a swim next to Bournemouth Pier, while reportedly carrying a pack of beer.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.25pm on Saturday November 9, raising concern for the welfare of a man in the water near to Bournemouth Pier.
Two lifeboats attended the incident where they ‘blocked him’ from swimming further out and he later swam back to shore.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Officers attended, and it was reported that the man had exited the water of his own accord and was acting in a drunk and disorderly manner.”
He was issued with a dispersal notice requiring him to leave the area for a period of twelve hours.
