WIMBORNE’S newest retirement community has been named the ‘best retirement scheme’.
The Old Market Village has this month been named Best Retirement Scheme at the Housebuilders Awards 2024.
The McCarthy Stone village only started to welcome occupants as of last month.
It’s made up of two developments, including The Old Market Gardens, which caters exclusively to the over 65s where they live in a two or three-bedroom bungalow, and Market House, where the over 70s can choose from 68 one and two-bedroom retirement apartments.
Verity McKay, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “The team at The Old Market Village are thrilled it has been crowned ‘best retirement scheme’ at this year’s Housebuilders Awards.
“This is proof of our long-standing commitment to developing welcoming and friendly communities which meet the highest standards and help our homeowners live life to the fullest.”
Residents at both developments have access to shared spaces, including a lounge for social activities, landscaped gardens, a wellness zone with fitness studios, and a chef-run bistro serving freshly prepared meals daily.
All residents receive one hour of weekly domestic assistance, with flexible options for additional support tailored to individual needs, including help with convalescence and daily tasks like cleaning, bed changes, or grocery shopping.
