A MAN was caught carrying a bag “ram packed” with suspected stolen goods.
Poole Police were out patrolling the town this week when they spotted a “suspicious male” with a “rather heavy bag”.
The man was stopped, and officers found his bag was full of washing detergent.
The items were removed, and enquiries are ongoing to locate where the items came from before the matter is handled as theft.
Poole Police’s PC Ash spoke about the incident while giving an update on Facebook about his week in the town centre.
He said: “As most of you know I love getting out on the beat and it took me all of five minutes to locate my first wanted person of the week. She was arrested and taken to court for failing to appear for a previous matter.
"I was then alerted by members of the public to three persons selling items suspected to be fake items from bags on the high street they were quickly located and detained, items seized and removed and issued with community resolutions for the offence.
“The next day it was a little deja vu when looking for a wanted person on the high street led me to a location just off the high street. Never forgetting a face on the wanted list the person first in the queue happened to be the latest wanted person. He was arrested and taken to court.
“Now they say lightning doesn’t strike twice … but how about three times, when enquiries around homeless persons sleeping in a car led us to an address in Canford Heath, whereby you guessed it one of the residents was showing wanted for failing to appear. Another one arrested.
"Once we had finished with courts and transport we hit the town on foot, where a highly suspicious male was sighted with a rather heavy bag, which was absolutely rammed packed with washing detergent, and before we say it he didn’t make off or 'Vanish', he was stopped the items removed and enquiries ongoing to locate the store and owners before they will be dealt with for theft."
