MELLO Mello Bar in Christchurch Road, Boscombe, is the Daily Echo's pub of the week.

With a focus on customer service and maintaining relationships, Mello Mello is a familiar place for many residents.

Owner Andre Khorasani said: “It’s quite a community pub, there’s a lot of community support and we support the locals.”

The pub is open seven days a week, from 8am until 12am Sunday through Thursday, and 8am to 2am Friday and Saturday.

Andre said the watering hole offers drink prices at the “bare minimum” for customers, and to make sure that anyone in the community is always welcome.

Andre said the friendly community atmosphere in the pub brings in many families and that it’s a great space to families to connect, as well as locals.

One thing Mello Mello Bar is known for is being one of the main attractions for away football fans when there are Bournemouth games.

Andre said: “We’ve been doing it for years, all the fans know the place, as soon as they come to Bournemouth, they all come here, we don’t need any advertising because they’ve been coming here for years.”

As well as being a popular destination for football fans, the pub offers multiple activities such as karaoke.

It holds karaoke evenings on the weekend with cash prizes going to the top three who compete.

Andre has been the owner and landlord for more than 21 years, saying customers are always shocked that he’s still there.

He said: “It’s gone so fast I can’t believe it.”

Before Andre took over ownership, Mello Mello Bar was established in 1983.

Previous to this, Andre describes that the building Mello Mello Bar is situated in used to be a cinema.

Andre describes the last 21 years at Mello Mello Bar as an “amazing experience”.

He hopes to stay on for as long as possible due to the customers and community being so great and supportive.

Andre said: “I love our customers and chatting with them on daily basis has been a great journey.”
