FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a fire on a double decker bus.
A team from Swanage Fire Station was alerted to reports of a fire on the Purbeck Breezer at around 6am on Saturday morning, November 16.
On arrival, it was found the rear brakes were ablaze.
A spokesperson for the station said: “Early this morning both pumps were mobilised to a large vehicle fire in town.
“On arrival we found a small fire coming from the rear brakes of a bus and it was extinguished and cooled down using one hose reel just.
“Luckily the damage to the bus was kept to a minimum and no one was injured.”
Swanage Fire Station was also joined by a crew from Westbourne to tackle a farm fire at around 4.30pm on Friday, November 15.
The spokesperson added: “This afternoon ourselves and Westbourne were sent to a large pile of hay, straw and reed which had been set alight.
“The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets and turning over.”
