POLICE are investigating after a high-end car was found engulfed in flames at a car park.
Officers were alerted to reports of a car fire at Ocknell Pond Car Park near Stoney Cross.
On arrival, a Mercedes was found well alight with smoke billowing into the air.
An investigation has now been launched into the cause of the blaze.
Officers notified the public of the incident while reporting on their patrols across the county.
A spokesperson for New Forest police said: “We have just finished another week of high visibility proactive patrols across the beat.
“Not too much to report – which is always good news – but we did find this Mercedes on fire in the Ocknell Pond car park up at Stoney Cross.
“We are still investigating what happened and will let you know when we have some answers.”
