A BUSINESS that aims to “revitalise” UK town centres has opened a new base in Bournemouth.
The launch of social impact start-up Patch in Bobby’s in the Square saw more than 300 of Bournemouth’s leading entrepreneurs and cultural figures gather to connect and celebrate.
The space offers coworking studios and private offices tailored to freelancers, start-ups and scale-up businesses, all equipped with state-of-the-art facilities designed to boost productivity.
There is also a suite of public meeting and event spaces, perfect for hosting everything from tech summits and book festivals to yoga sessions and podcasts.
Paloma Strelitz, creative director of Patch, said: “As we open our doors, our ambition for Patch is to become the leading space for start-ups and small businesses to thrive.
“Already, we’re seeing a vibrant mix of entrepreneurs, creatives, and local talent coming together to build something exceptional.
“We’re just getting started and look forward to seeing how this community will drive innovation and collaboration across the south coast.”
The new workspace has been crafted to deliver an environment that “supports all working rhythms, from focused work to team collaboration”, bosses have said.
In addition, there is superfast Wi-Fi, electric standing desks, second screens and complimentary bean-to-cup coffee.
Karley Woodford, site director at Patch, added: “We have such a strong community of freelancers and creatives here in Bournemouth, and I’m happy to say that we already have over 100 members.
“It’s a lively and welcoming atmosphere, and we invite anyone to come in, take a look around, and enjoy the space.
“We still have offices and memberships available, or you can just drop by and say hi, we’re all very friendly.”
Nick Whitnell, founder of Daring Works, a consultancy and coaching business, has signed up to work from the building.
He said: “The other members that I’ve met so far have all been brilliant, it’s really inspiring to meet the many entrepreneurs and creatives that work in Bournemouth.
“I’ve loved finding out more about what they do and I feel like this is going to be a powerful community of co-creation and meaningful collaboration.
“It's also an amazing building, so full of character and a real joy to be in. This is how work should be, fun and inspiring. Oh, and the coffee’s great too.”
