A PERSON was pronounced dead after reports of a police incident on the railway.
Officers have confirmed that a person was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a train in New Milton.
A police cordon was put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident on November 16 at around 10pm.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to New Milton station shortly after 9pm on Saturday 16 November following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
