THE DANCE floor was alive with the sound of boogie tunes and nostalgic hits for a daytime event.

Zoo and Cage, a pop-up party, for those aged 30 and over, saw the original team behind the famous club take over the very same site, now Cameo on November 16.

The nightclub in Fir Vale Road brought back original DJs, clubbing classics and a lively atmosphere for a once-in-a-lifetime event to relive the 90s in Bournemouth.

Zoo & Cage opened in 1991 and was a mainstay in the Bournemouth night-time scene for nearly 10 years.

Speaking on the idea behind the event, organiser Ben Loren said: “I could see a demand for a party with the older generation that maybe haven't been out for a while.

“I can see there was a demand for that demographic to enjoy themselves.

“In most venues or most cities, in late night, the clubs cater for younger people so, I thought, let's go for it and let's try an event and bring a reunion back. Let's see if the nostalgia can meet the demand of people wanting to come out and party.

“And let's make it in the day because people have things to do tomorrow and, don't necessarily like going out till 4am.

“The event was great, and I can’t wait to see what we’re going to do next.”

Zoo and Cage took place from 3pm – 8pm at Cameo Nightclub.
