AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a 58-year-old woman from Poole.
Karen McAusland was found unresponsive in her home in Poole on July 19.
Assistant Coroner for Dorset, Richard Middleton, opened the inquest into his death at Bournemouth Town Hall on November 18.
Coroner’s officer, Grace Monro, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Karen was born in Poole on May 1, 1966.
She added that she was single and working as an office manager at the time of her death.
On July 19, the ambulance service were called to her home address after a concern for welfare was reported.
It was reported that Karen McAusland had not been heard from for a week prior to the concern for welfare check.
Karen McAusland was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
A postmortem examination conducted by Dr Stolte found Karen’s provisional cause of death to be drug intoxication.
Mr Middleton adjourned the hearing for a full inquest on June 18, 2025, at 2pm.
