A MULTI-MILLION-POUND redevelopment of a community hub has been completed.

Work on the new double-storey pavilion clubhouse Ringwood Community Hub in long Lane was completed by Ringwood-based construction company Knights Brown.

The new pavilion provides facilities for the support of grassroots clubs and has a café, changing facilities, a balcony overlooking the pitch and back-of-house functions.

The project has been boosted by a grant from the Premier League, the FA and the government’s Football Foundation, as well as additional funding from New Forest District Council and Ringwood and District Round Table.

Divisional director of Knights Brown Mike Crook said: “It’s been a pleasure for Knights Brown to be the main contractor on this design and build project.

“We were keen to partner with AFC Bournemouth and Ringwood Town FC, as Knights Brown have been based in Ringwood since the company was formed in 1953.

“The new clubhouse is a welcoming space that has really transformed the area and will be a vibrant centre piece for our community.”

Ringwood town mayor Rae Frederick added: “I’m delighted that Ringwood Town Council has been able to play its part in securing these new football facilities for the town.

“The improved facilities will provide more opportunities for local people of all ages and abilities to be involved with sport.”
