A major festival duo are returning to the live stage after a decade – with a Dorset performance in their summer line-up.
Organisers of Camp Bestival held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle, are ‘chuffed’ to announce that electronic duo Basement Jaxx are set to be their Saturday night headliner for 2025.
For the first time in ten years, Basement Jaxx are bringing back their legendary euphoric carnival-filled live experience complete with a dizzying array of singers, MCs, musicians and whole troupes of dancers.
The group's hits include Bingo Bango, Where's Your Head At and Rendez-Vu.
Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx said: “After a few years DJing round the globe, it’ll be great to return to the live stage and the live show experience to connect to people with life affirming energy and give people a great time.
“It’s great that our hits are still very much alive with younger generations, so we connect across the age range – and it’ll be great to pop in a couple of bangers from our forthcoming album too.
“It feels like 2025 is the beginning of a new era for many and I think that’s probably true for Basement Jaxx too.”
The duo will be performing at the popular family-festival on Saturday, August 2, at the Castle Stage.
Festival organiser, Rob da Bank said: “Me and Josie met in South London in the 90s and some of the most amazing parties we went to were the Basement Jaxx and Rooty parties where we met Simon and Felix and became lifelong friends.
“They have been a fixture over the years, not only on our sound systems and da Bank house playlists, but at our festivals and we are so chuffed to welcome the full live show back after a decade off. It really is one of the best dance music shows around with so much colour and vibrancy.”
The fancy dress theme for next year’s festival has also been revealed to be ‘pyjama party,’ as part of a ‘bedtime PJ party spectacular.’
