A POOLE care home welcomed Pudsey Bear to residents as part of a “memorable experience” to fundraise for Children in Need.
Upton Bay Care Home ‘memory lane’ residents took part in a dog walk with Basil the golden doodle along with Pudsey Bear.
Residents, Denise, Evelyn and Josephine mingled with friendly dogs and their owners along the way, with a spokesperson adding that it was a “joyful and uplifting experience”.
“Evelyn, in particular, found a special connection with Marley, a big golden retriever, evoking fond memories of the dogs that have been a cherished part of her life.”
Marley belongs to activities lead, Karen’s, family and was said to add an “extra dose of warmth and nostalgia to the walk”.
The furry companions created a “special bond” between residents, dogs and the community.
Those taking part in the walk took a well-deserved breach at Hamworthy Café where members of the community came together with residents for hot beverages and exchanging stories.
“The Hamworthy community was touched by our efforts to support Children in Need, and their admiration and support only added to the sense of fulfilment and pride felt by all,” said a spokesperson for the care home.
Residents also took a bus trip to Muddy Boots Pre School, along with Pudsey Bear, where children showcased their singing.
The joy continued for a visit to Upton Methodist Church Pre School where children took part in nursery rhymes and laughter.
