A FAMILY-run Christmas tree supplier will open a new branch in Sandbanks this weekend.
Trinity St Christmas Trees has announced a new venture at The Watersports Academy which will open on Saturday, November 23.
The expansion brings the firm’s Christmas trees closer to families in Poole and Bournemouth.
Peter Hyde, founder of Trinity St Christmas Trees, said: “We’re passionate about sustainability and quality.
“When you choose one of our trees, you’re supporting a local business, helping the environment, and getting the freshest tree possible, straight from Dorset soil to your home.”
Dave Hartwell, owner of The Watersports Academy, said: “The environment is incredibly important to us.
“We believe in the importance of buying local. Trinity St’s trees only travel short distances from Dorset plantations to our Sandbanks branch, massively reducing carbon miles and supporting sustainable practices.”
The majority of Trinity St’s trees are grown locally in Dorset on one of several plantations.
Trinity Street Christmas Trees plants, tends and nurtures each Dorset-grown tree, ensuring it reaches the perfect size and shape for the festive season.
It takes between seven and 10 years to grow a seven feet tree.
Trinity St Christmas has more than 35 years of bringing top-quality Dorset-grown Christmas trees to homes.
The new Sandbanks location will offer a big selection of trees to choose from, including non-drop Nordman Fir, Fraser Fir, and Silver (Korean) Fir, all backed by the firm’s needle retention guarantee.
Peter added: “In rare cases, a tree may experience ‘shock’ and drop its needles prematurely.
“Should that happen, we guarantee a free replacement. We stand by the quality and freshness of our trees.”
Trinity St Christmas Trees offer a more environmentally friendly option when it comes to netting as all trees are wrapped in biodegradable netting that is compostable.
The plantation-grown trees benefit the environment by absorbing CO₂ and producing oxygen, while careful, sustainable growing practices ensure minimal environmental impact.
According to the Carbon Trust, a 2m real tree has a carbon footprint of just 3.5kg of CO₂ when disposed of properly, compared to 40kg for an artificial tree.
The Watersports Academy location in Sandbanks joins Trinity Street Christmas Trees' established sites in Dorchester and Weymouth.
The online store is now open at tschristmastrees.co.uk.
