CHRISTMAS in Westbourne will be kickstarted next week with a Christmas light switch-on event.
Special guest Jeff Mostyn, AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust ambassador and former club chairman, will officially switch on the lights alongside the Mayor of Bournemouth on Thursday, November 28.
This year’s event will feature bespoke lighting installations throughout the arcade, commissioned by Coastal BID, and a stunning Wonderland Squirrel display, adding a whimsical charm to Westbourne’s festive transformation.
The festivities continue with a community singalong led by the Rock Choir, complete with song sheets for everyone to join in the fun.
After the lights are switched on, Jeff Mostyn will host a special meet-and-greet at Westbird Cafe Bar.
Attendees will also have the exclusive opportunity to secure early discounted tickets for An Audience with Jeff Mostyn, set to be held at a later date.
Fiona McArthur from Bournemouth Coastal BID said: "The Westbourne Light Switch-On is such a wonderful community tradition, and this year’s bespoke Wonderland display adds something really special.
"We’re thrilled to welcome Jeff Mostyn and the Mayor to help us celebrate, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone there."
Jeff Finch and Luis Granell, owners of Westbird Cafe Bar, added: "We’re excited to host the meet-and-greet with Jeff Mostyn after the switch-on. It’s a fantastic chance for people to connect with him and get a sneak peek at what’s to come with An Audience with Jeff Mostyn. We can’t wait to welcome everyone."
Local businesses will also join in the celebration, offering festive treats and warm drinks.
