BOURNEMOUTH has one of the most used railway stations in the south west, it has been revealed.
Bournemouth came sixth in a list of the top 10 busiest stations according to data released by the Office for Rail and Road.
The data was based on the number of entries and exists between April 2023 and March 2024.
Bournemouth had 2.5 million entries and exists during the period.
Bristol Temple Meads took first place with 10.2 million visits.
Other locations featured in the list included Bath Spa, Swindon, Exeter Central, Exeter St David’s, Plymouth, Bristol Parkway, Cheltenham Spa and Salisbury.
The least used station in the region was Coombe Junction Halt with just 140 entries and exists.
None of Dorset’s railway stations featured in the list.
Nationally, the Office of Rail and Road confirmed London Liverpool Street station retained its title as Great Britain's most used railway station in 2023-24, while Denton in Greater Manchester was Great Britain's least used station at 54 entries and exits.
