FIREFIGHTERS had to put out a bin lorry that was on fire in Christchurch.
Emergency services were called to Somerford Road on Thursday afternoon, November 21 where the Veolia bin lorry was engulfed in flames.
The firefighters put out the vehicle, which had parked by the Beefeater.
A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 12.25pm on Thursday, November 21 to Somerford Road, Christchurch to reports of a lorry fire.
“Two crews from Christchurch attended where two breathing apparatus wearers used one main jet to extinguish. Our stop was at 12.57pm.”
Simon Rowley, who captured the emergency response on camera, said: “This lorry caught alight close to the Somerford Hotel just after mid-day.
“Two fire crews from Christchurch attended but the cab was completely destroyed. The hotel was evacuated.”
