A COMPANY director has been ordered to pay almost £7,000 and disqualified from managing companies after posing a “risk to the public”.

Brian Andrew English, 64, and of Beacon Hill Lane in Corfe Mullen, was found guilty at Poole Magistrates’ Court of taking part in the running of Insignia Shade and Shutter Company without leave of the court.

It was said that between January 22, 2020 and August 19, 2022, English was subject to section 216 of the Insolvency Act, which banned him from being a director after his company went into liquidation.

When a company goes into liquation, the director is banned from directing another company known by a prohibited name or take part in the promotion, formation or management of such a company.

English was conditionally discharged for three years and disqualified for the same time from being a director of a company, a liquidator or administrator of a company, a receiver or manager of a company’s property and directly or indirectly taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company.

The disqualification begins on December 12 and was ordered due to “risk to the public”.

English was also ordered to pay costs of £6777.20 and a victim surcharge of £26.
