A RADIO station run the Student Union of Bournemouth University (SUBU) has received three awards at the 2024 Student Radio Awards (SRA).
The awards, hosted at the O2 Indigo in London, is an annual celebration to recognise the achievements in the student radio and audio community.
Nerve Radio presenters Hannah Clubley and Kitty Nixon were awarded gold for Best Interview after they interviewed artist Badger in June 2024.
Hannah said: “Nerve Radio has been such an important part of my university experience. It’s how I found my love for interviewing, and I haven’t stopped since.
“I am over the moon to have won a gold award and it means the absolute world to us both to have gained this recognition."
Nerve Radio was awarded Silver for Best Event Programming for an event they organised at Dylan’s Kitchen & Bar in February.
They were also were awarded silver for Best Multiplatform Initiative’ when they hosted a 24-hour broadcast from their studio to raise money for Mind, The Teenage Cancer Trust, The Journey of a Lifetime Trust and Epilepsy Action.
Jeffery Ononiwu, vice-president of student opportunities at the Students’ Union, said: “A huge congratulations to all students involved with Nerve Radio. This has been another incredible achievement for our student-led radio station, and we’re so pleased to see them adding more awards to their trophy cabinet."
