A PERSON was hospitalised after a lorry crashed into an electric pole.

Traffic from Hurn to the A338 was at a standstill this afternoon after emergency services dealt with a lorry crash.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Southwestern Ambulance service, and regional police officers attended the incident at around 1.30pm.

Dorset Police reported that a lorry had crashed into an electric pole at the Hurn Roundabout.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 13:37hrs on Monday 25 November to a road traffic collision near Hurn.

"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.”

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 1.17pm of a single vehicle collision involving a lorry at the Hurn Roundabout on the Avon Causeway.

"There are no reports of any injuries, however, road closures have been put in place as the vehicle is recovered.

"Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding as we respond to this incident."
