THOUSANDS of people across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have signed a petition calling for another general election.
The petition was started online by Michael Westwood who runs 'Britain's cheapest pub', the Wagon and Horses in Oldbury, West Midlands.
The petition was set up on November 20 but has already been signed by 2.5 million people demanding another election.
It reads: "I would like there to be another general election.
“I believe the current Labour government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead-up to the last election.”
According to a map on the petition website, Bournemouth East and West residents contributed to 3,852 and 4,104 signatures respectively.
There were 4,819 signatures in the Poole area and 4,822 in Christchurch.
The Echo asked BCP residents whether they'd support another general election.
Kevin Daniels, working at Bournemouth's Christmas Market, said: "It’s been couple of months. I mean the Conservatives lasted over 14 years. You know, I would have quite happily have had an election every year with them in power.
"I mean, obviously they said there's a lot of things need mending. You've gotta start somewhere. Labour has just started. Our nation should give chance to another party. You've got to sort of recoup some money and get things running. It's going to the the National Health Service, and other things like that."
Kevin believes that Labour is initiating policies that will benefit the country and its citizens.
He added: "A lot of people are bothered about immigration, aren't they? Starting off they are managing it quite well. Rather than that Rwanda fantasy. I mean, you can't have illegal immigration."
For Tigerlily Taylor, working as a makeup artist in Bournemouth, Labour was never her choice.
She said: "I personally don't like Keir Starmer. I vote the Green Party. I would love to see another election. For working class people like us, Starmer would never understand the everyday life difficulties. Everything is just getting more and more expensive.
"They are going to increase the National Insurance rate from 2025 which will only burden working class people. The standard of living is extremely hard. I think its unfair, he didn't keep his promises."
